(At least it didn't for me) After having to use the glider on top of the grand tree, I traveled via Daero to get to Ape atoll from there on. After the first time you use the glider, it shouldn't cost you anything from there on. To anyone starting Monkey Madness, you only need to use bolts of cloth and planks once.
I've compiled a list of some tips to help out anyone who's trying to complete Monkey Madness, so take good notes: And take note, I am suggesting to fix ALL QUESTS that encounter these or similar problems. Tl dr Monkey Madness (and The Grand Tree) are really bad right now. The simple fix for this is removing the spiders that attack you in both areas.

Mainly, the gate gaurd (don't remember his exact name, but where you use the password Ka Lu Min), and King Awowegi. Again, a feature to make the game more dangerous and difficult, that's good! However, some of these aggressive monsters block you from speaking to a few NPCs that are required to advance in the quest. The aggressive monsters everywhere make the quest incredibly infuriating.

I recommend doing this by allowing players to have 10 free flights on the gnome gliders before they ask for the cloth and planks. I am fine with the game being more difficult, I actually think it's a good thing, but the cost of using the glider should be lifted for those 7 mandatory flights. In the quest, you are REQUIRED to use the gnome glider at a very minimum of 7 times between The Grand Tree and Monkey Madness. I'm not sure if that is an RS3 or a DarkScape thing (I'm an OldSchool player), but it should be changed for the quest. That is an 1800 gp cost (which is a lot right now) and I assume is there to make the game a little more difficult. The gnome gliders require 2 bolts of cloth, and 2 planks to use. If suicide if optional, and happens to be quicker or more efficient, that is fine. You should be FORCED to kill yourself to advance in anything in the game. There are many problems with the quest at this point in time:Ĭurrently, it is IMPOSSIBLE to complete the quest without suiciding at least twice.
I'm sure that Monkey Madness isn't the only quest that is affected by the restrictions of DarkScape in an extremely negative way, but it seems so far (that I know of), it is the worst.
